SARAJEVO, December 30 (FENA) - Representatives of four political parties: Our Party, the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the People and Justice Party and the Independent List of BiH spoke today to reporters on a topic of the latest political turmoil in the Sarajevo Canton.

Our Party President Predrag Kojović emphasized that the dismissal of the incumbent government can and must happen only under those procedures prescribed by the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and laws such as the Law on Government.

“It's not about fighting for our positions. It is about fighting for Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the rule of law and for normal democratic procedures. The Rules of Procedure of the Sarajevo Canton are not legally an ideal document, but in the part related to the dismissal of the government it is extremely precise,” he said.

President of the People and Justice Party, Elmedin Konaković, said, among other things, that 'the change of government will happen and that the dates have been scheduled'.

He recalled that an interim financing session is scheduled for January 8, and a session scheduled for January 16, "where 18 people have the opportunity to set a date and vote on no confidence to the government."

"By doing so, we dismiss all possible arguments that someone is doing this for themselves," he said. He also said that the seal of the government is protected until 'we name people to their official duties.'

Prime Minister Edin Forto (Our Party) says the session that was held last Saturday was unlawfully scheduled, in violation of the Rules of Procedure and the Law.

“This government can hardly wait for the legal situation to be clarified, to continue working normally until a new government is appointed in accordance with the law and parliamentary procedure. That is our task,” said Forto.

A new majority in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly made up of SDA, SBB and DF, last Saturday elected SDA MP Mirza Čelik as chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.

At the SC Assembly, he replaced Elmedin Konaković of the NiP, who was denied support by the Bosniak People caucus for membership in the leadership of the cantonal legislative body.
