MOSTAR, December 30 (FENA) - Issuing of redundancy decisions for the largest number of Aluminij Mostar employees began today, FENA learns at the Mostar-based company.
During the last two calendar days of 2019, approximately 170 employees will be receiving contract termination notices, ending their employment on December 31, 2019, while the remaining workers will receive their termination notices in January next year.
According to the law, they will receive corresponding severance pay, which should be paid by January 15, 2020.
The production facilities of Mostar's Aluminij were shut down on July 10 after the company was disconnected from the grid due to accumulated debt.
At the beginning of September, 600 of the former 900 employees received severance pay and contract termination notices.
The Aluminij management and the government have repeatedly said that a solution for the former production giant would be found by the end of 2019 and that the production would begin again but to no avail.
