MOSTAR, December 29 (FENA) - A new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers will seriously address the migrant crisis, HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović said.
"I am sure that the new Council of Ministers will look differently on the migrant crisis, which is becoming a key problem for functioning and stability of BiH. The fact is that we have not considered how to stop migrants from entering BiH illegally so far, but we have primarily dealt with the question where to accommodate them," Čović said on Saturday in Mostar.
According to him, the migrant crisis has turned from a humanitarian issue into a security one.
"I hope that the new Council of Ministers will pass the laws that we should have two years ago, adapt them to the new environment, so that these people would not be allowed to enter the country, behave as they are citizens of BiH, and we do not even know the identity of these people or their intentions and plans," Čović stated.
It is clear, Čović added, that most migrants want to go to the EU countries, but there is a danger that "some other arrangements" are made and therefore the BiH Council of Ministers is expected to have a political framework for this problem.
