SARAJEVO, December 24 (FENA) - The newly-appointed Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković, today took over her duty from former foreign minister Igor Crnadak.
During her term in office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Turković will also act as Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Turković was the first bilateral ambassador in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina (in the Republic of Croatia in 1992), and the first woman to serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the first woman to serve as Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to her role as the BiH Minister of European Integration, she contributed to the development and promotion of the BiH diplomatic service through the functions of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of BiH to Hungary, the United States, Belgium and Qatar, then as Head of the Permanent Mission of BiH to the OSCE and the UN in Austria, the non-resident ambassador of BiH to Brazil, Mexico and Luxembourg, and ambassador at large and the chief of the Office for special diplomatic activities at the headquarters of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
