MOSTAR, December 22 (FENA) - President of HDZ BiH and Croat National Assembly Speaker Dragan Čović voted in Mostar this morning in Croatia's presidential elections and said that these are very important elections for Croats in BiH.
"These are very important elections for us since Croatia holds the EU Presidency in the first half of 2020.
This would mean that if we finish this job with constituting the Council of Ministers, we can realistically expect to be at the same table with North Macedonia and Albania in Zagreb in May 2020.
It is precisely our relationship that we are building with the Republic of Croatia that gives importance to the function of President in the Republic of Croatia and we are creating a much better path than we have done in the last year when it comes to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Čović to the press.
He emphasized that these elections are very significant for the Croats in BiH because "the messages coming from Croatia's president are always heard far".
"I hope that we will have continuity of these messages so that we can achieve full equality when it comes to the electoral legislation in BiH," said Čović today, once again urging voters in BiH to support the HDZ candidate in the Croatian presidential elections.
