SARAJEVO, December 19 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muhammad Khalid Rao, visited the Federal News Agency (FENA) and met with General Manager of the Agency, Elmir Huremović to discuss development plans and the role of the agency as a public media in the BiH society.
Huremović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan are friendly countries and expressed his content that the Ambassador has showed interest to visit FENA and was informed about the work of the leading news agency in the country.
“As part of the cooperation with partner agencies in the world, several years ago, we signed an agreement with the Pakistani agency PPI.
Thanks to the news exchange, information from Bosnia and Herzegovina is present in the media space of Pakistan. Likewise, the BiH public has an insight into what is happening in this geographically far, but friendly state,” he said.
Huremović added that this cooperation also allows us to get to know each other's cultures better, attract tourists and strengthen business ties.
“Guided by the same goals, today we have agreed to establish cooperation between FENA and the Embassy, recognizing many prospects that are in the mutual interest,” he stressed.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Khalid Rao was pleased with the opportunity to visit FENA, and pointed out that General Manager Huremović informed him about FENA’s activities and operations, and in particular, placing emphasis on impartial reporting.
“I believe that it is important for every country to have free and impartial media, because it is the fourth pillar of the state. If the media is free and impartial then the state will prosper. I wish FENA good luck in its future endeavors,” said the Ambassador.
The Pakistani ambassador also visited FENA’s newsroom in order to learn about the day-to-day work process and its multimedia content.
