SARAJEVO, December 16 (FENA) - The Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ljubinko Mitrović, Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić and Ombudsman of Serbia Zoran Pašalić signed today a Memorandum of Understanding in Belgrade between the two institutions.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to create organizational conditions for cooperation in the field of protection of citizens' rights, handling complaints and other activities related to the tasks and purposes of the work of these institutions, and contributing to the protection of human rights and freedoms.
The Memorandum establishes a framework for the development of partnership cooperation between the parties through various activities and assistance in the promotion and protection of human rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as for the exchange of information and mutual consultation in the implementation of projects and programs, organization of mutual visits, internships, trainings, workshops, and other activities.
It is envisaged that the cooperation is based on the principles of partnership, transparency, accountability, joint planning and coordination of activities, mutual interest, mutual information and autonomy of the two parties, the Ombudsman of BiH announced.
