BANJA LUKA, December 8 (FENA) - Staša Košarac and Vojin Mitrović are candidates of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) as ministers in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, party leader Milorad Dodik confirmed yesterday.

"Staša Košarac will be nominated for Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, and Vojin Mitrović for Minister of Transport and Communications," Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.

Dodik expects that a session of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly be scheduled by December 23 when a new Council of Ministers would be elected.

"Last night we spoke with HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović, who told me and Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija that he would submit names of their candidates for ministers by Monday," Dodik said.

If the Bosniak side does the same, Dodik says, Tegeltija may request a background check procedure for candidates on Monday, December 9.

The background check should be completed by the end of the week and already on the 18th, and no later than December 21 or 23, to schedule a session of parliament at which a new Council of Ministers will be elected.

That would end the process, which "took unjustifiably long time and led to a deadlock in many fields".
