MOSTAR / ZAGREB, December 6 (FENA) - HDZ BiH President and Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Dragan Čović participated in a conference on "Values of Christian Democracy in Politics and Society" in Zagreb on Thursday, where he spoke about values of Christian democracy in politics and society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Values of Christian democracy are at the same time European values, and if we ignore them, we have neglected all that we are and what we represent,” said Čović, the HDZ BiH announced.
He added that these values are now, more than ever before, at risk, threatened, both externally and internally.
“We should have the obligation to stand for the protection of those values that are universal in their significance, that is, global, regardless of whether they directly or indirectly relate to the Christian-democratic European heritage,” he emphasized.
HDZ BiH as a Christian democratic party in Bosnia's specific political environment, bases its activities on, among other things, the Christian tradition of the Croat people, promoting and preserving those values that reflect its identity, advocating for BiH to be democratic.
President of HDZ BiH added that the party is in favor of a decentralized state of social justice, equal and standardized collective rights of peoples, as well as individual rights of citizens.
