SARAJEVO, December 5 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac met with the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic today to brief her on the activities of the Ministry in the context of an increased influx of migrants to BiH.
The focus was on the most vulnerable categories of migrants, who expressed their intention or applied for asylum and are accommodated at the Salakovac Refugee Center near Mostar. The center currently accommodates 180 people, mainly families with children and minors.
It was unanimously concluded that this makeshift camp Vučjak in the Una-Sana Canton must be urgently closed, the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees stated.
Emphasizing her full commitment to respecting the human rights of migrants, especially children, Borovac expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees to provide accommodation for unaccompanied minors in Salakovac, who were registered in Vučjak camp.
