SARAJEVO, November 24 (FENA) - Traditional annual awards for contributing to the protection and promotion of the rights of the child were presented at a workshop "Media Contribution to the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of the Child", organized by UNICEF in BiH.
The N1 correspondent from Tuzla, Natasa Tadić, received the award for the best TV reporting "Children should receive healthcare from the budget and politicians by SMS messages".
In the internet category, the award went to Midhat Poturović for the story "Super Hero Without a Cloak" published on Radio Free Europe.
In the blog category, Brankica Smiljanić was awarded for the news piece"Protect the children from yourself", while in the print category the award went to Živana Jovančić from Gracija Magazine for the story "I'm happy, I'm in school!"
Acknowledgments for the promotion of the rights of the child were presented to Jasna Avdibegović (Federal News Agency), Amina Bijelonja (Voice of America-VOA), Velida Kulenović (Federation of BiH Radio), Aida Hrnjić (Aljazeera), Katarina Lončar (Bljesak.info), Ammar Grbić (Pereventeen Magazine).
The UNICEF Representative in BiH, Rownak Khan, thanked all the recipients and stressed that their contribution is extremely important in today's society, where issues related to children's rights are not always the ones most widely read.
"Therefore, I thank you very much for your work and extra engagement that has helped to put the focus of the public on the children's rights," Khan said.
UNICEF also presented guidelines for evaluating media content in light of the best interests of the child.
