SARAJEVO, November 20 (FENA) - Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Prime Minister Fadil Novalić wrote today to the Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Sabina Sarajlija, asking her to act urgently in accordance with her responsibilities to examine the facts surrounding the overall developments in Pazarić Institution for children and youth with intellectual and psycho-social disabilities.
“Like all citizens, I was disturbed by the photos published today of the residents of the Pazarić Institution. Without going into possible political motive of those who made those photographs public, I decided, first of all, as a human being and then as prime minister, to seek the assistance of the Prosecutor's Office,” said Novalić.
The letter to the Prosecutor stated that there were indications of possible existence of corrupt and criminal offenses committed by certain persons through various forms and forms of abuse of office or authority in the exercise of official duty, but not in the interests and needs of the service they perform for another purpose, or interest.
He addressed the Prosecutor with regard to conflicting official information available to the FBiH Government in relation to information appearing in the media in terms of respect for residents’ rights, conditions of accommodation, treatment of resident and other facts regarding their stay at the Institution.
FBIH Prime Minister also tasked the FBiH Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Education and Science to provide the information on the real situation at the Pazarić Institution, and that information should be considered at the session scheduled for Friday, November 22, PR Office of the Government of the Federation of BiH announced.
