SARAJEVO, November 19 (FENA) - The Association of the Genocide Victims and Witnesses today organized a peaceful gathering outside the Swedish Embassy building in Sarajevo over the decision of the Swedish Academy to award the Nobel Prize for Literature to Peter Handke, who publicly justified and supported war criminals and crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide Murat Tahirović earlier told reporters that Peter Handke supported war criminals in BiH, first of all Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, and that such person does not deserve anything, let alone the Nobel Prize.

"The award should be presented on Tuesday, December 10, and we think that every Tuesday we must warn the Swedish Academy and the authorities in Sweden that Handke is not the person who deserves this award," said Tahirović.

The Association announced that a large protest will be organized by the Swedish Diaspora in Stockholm on December 10.

President of the Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves, Munira Subašić, said she would ask the Committee to also award Radovan Karadžić, Ratko Mladić and Slobodan Milošević next year, "because, they would this fulfill the desire of criminals, genocide deniers, and those who committed it".

Numerous messages could be seen on the banners today, and some of them were, "Those who can convince you of absurdity can make you commit a crime", "Denial of genocide is the last stage of genocide", and “The Award to Peter Handke is a reward to Slobodan Milošević".

The peaceful protests against the Nobel Prize to Handke will continue until December 10, when a major peace rally will be held in Stockholm over the Nobel Committee's decision.
