MOSTAR, November 15 (FENA) - Delegations of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) discussed co-operation between the two parties, formation of government and relations at the state level today in Mostar.
Delegations led by HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović and SNSD President Milorad Dodik believe it is high time to establish a new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers and emphasize good cooperation between the two parties.
HDZ BiH President was optimistic that a BiH Council of Ministers would be established soon.
"I think we will soon be able to establish Council of Ministers and work in full capacity," Čović said after the meeting.
However, SNSD President did not share such optimism.
"I wish I was as optimistic as Dragan, but I think Sarajevo 'jokers' are working on preventing any progress," Dodik said.
He proposed a new meeting of SNSD, HDZ and SDA leaders regarding an agreement on principles for establishing power.
With regard to relations at the state level, SNSD leader believes that the ANP issue was raised to prevent other issues such as the BiH Election Law.
"We support the HDZ BiH in their efforts to come up with electoral solutions that will allow the constituent people in BiH to elect their representatives without other nations being able to elect their representatives. This would significantly improve relations in BiH and put a realistic roadmap on a possible solution to BiH's electoral law. We believe that the Serb population in the FBiH must have its adequate representatives, not some speculators who appear at different levels and structures and then act outside the interests of the Serbs and their position in the FBiH itself," Dodik explained SNSD's stance.
When asked about the different stance of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), after more than a year of blockade, Dodik explained that the reason, among other things, is the initiative of the SDS and PDP on amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.
He explained that the SNSD think that the House of Representatives should not work until the Council of Ministers is formed and that is the reason they did not nominate members of the committees, expecting that an agreement would be reached on this matter.
"If the amendment of these Rules of Procedure is to follow, as suggested by these two political parties, it would mean that the minority part of the political will fully occupy all seats in the parliamentary committees, which is not adequate representation and has the negative impact of long-term relations in BiH," Dodik said.
