SARAJEVO, November 14 (FENA) - BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdić congratulates judicial and police institutions on extraordinary action in the fight against illegal educational institutions and the issuance of falsified diplomas.
"For any country that wants well to its present and future generations, education is one of the most important segments of development. Only a society which builds its vision of quality on education, innovation, acquisition of real and applied knowledge and skills can be sure that is on the right path and ultimately achieve its goals. Otherwise, with a chaotic education system, falsified diplomas and unaccredited colleges and universities that do not meet the minimum standards, every society, including ours, is certainly going into academic, cultural and economic regression," Zvizdić said.
He emphasized that this action is not only a fight against organized crime, but also a fight for the future and vision of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a society of knowledge, in which there will be valuable criteria, and in which it will not be possible for persons with "purchased" and "falsified" diplomas to take jobs to young, capable and well educated people.
He added that this is at the same time an activity in which all institutions and all segments of society that want to see Bosnia and Herzegovina as a prosperous state of equal opportunities must participate.
He stressed that all municipal, cantonal, entity and state institutions, as well as those which had not done so, should therefore carry out a background check of their employees' diplomas.
In particular, he recommended that all parliamentary political parties in BiH should check the validity of diplomas and degrees for members who are candidates for office at any level in BiH, the BiH Council of Ministers stated.
