SARAJEVO, November 13 (FENA) - More than 1.281.751 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina between January and September 2019, which is more than 11.1 percent and 2.661.261 overnight stays, which is more than 9.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists increased by 6.7 percent, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by 10.3 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
Domestic tourists accounted for 27.1 percent of all overnight stays, while foreign tourists 72.9 percent.
Most foreign tourists came from Croatia (11.4 percent), Serbia (8.1 percent), Saudi Arabia (7.7 percent), Slovenia (five percent), Italy (4.9 percent), Germany (4.8 percent), China (4.7 percent), Turkey (4.6 percent), the United Arab Emirates (4.4 percent) and Poland (4.3 percent), which is total 59.9 percent, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.
Tourists from Malta with 4.7 nights stayed the longest, followed with tourists from Kuwait with 3.4 nights, Iceland with 3.3 nights, Ireland with 3.2 nights and the United Arab Emirates with three nights.
By the type of accommodation, the highest number of overnight stays was recorded in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.1 percent.
