SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Johann Sattler, will visit Bihać today to meet with representatives of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) authorities and visit Borići and Bira migrant camps.
During the visit, Sattler will hand over 11 new vehicles to the USC Ministry of Interior as part of the European Union's support for the strengthening of the work of police officers in the canton.
To improve the BiH authorities' capacities to manage migrant crisis, the EU has provided 36 million euros in assistance since 2018.
This support includes providing shelter, food, water, sanitation, clothing, psycho-social assistance, and access to education and health services at five reception centers.
The European Union is also providing the necessary equipment and expert assistance to the USC police, the Foreigners’ Affairs Service, the Border Police of BiH and the Asylum Sector, the EU Delegation to BiH stated.
