MOSTAR, October 31 (FENA) - President of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) and HNS BiH Dragan Čović said Thursday that he hoped to find a way to create an atmosphere for BiH to establish government at all levels at a meeting with the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Mostar to take place on November 7.
He said that representatives of the HDZ and SDA will discuss two topics at the meeting.
“The first topic is the cooperation between the two political parties with the aim of strengthening the confidence that has been shaken up lately, and the second is the electoral legislation,” Čović told reporters in Mostar.
He expressed the opinion that there is enough room in the next two months to try to finalize the establishment of the government that, according to him, has taken far too long.
He said that establishing power was the only condition for BiH, together with North Macedonia and Albania, to become a candidate for EU membership.
“All other formal conditions that have been set before us have been met and if we are wise and decisive enough, in May next year, when this will be decided in Zagreb, we can be in the same negotiation process together with the two mentioned countries,” said Čović.
He added that he was sure that in May 2020, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković would do everything possible to get Bosnia and Herzegovina to that position.
