MOSTAR, October 28 (FENA) - The agreement for the construction of the Tarčin-Konjic motorway section, subsection Tarčin-Ivan LOT 2, the Ivan tunnel worth 57,628,570.37 euros, was signed on Monday at the headquarters of the FBiH Motorways in Mostar.
The agreement was signed by the Director of the FBiH Motorways Adnan Terzić, Director of Euro-Asfalt, Sarajevo Hamed Ramić and FBiH Minister of Transport and Communication Denis Lasić as a witness representing the FBiH Motorways and Munir Ramić as a witness representing Euro-Asfalt.
Director Terzić said that the signing of this agreement represents a huge success for the public enterprise FBiH Motorways, the Corridor Vc, the Federation of BiH and the entire country.
“This is the seventh agreement signed after the adoption of the Law Excise Tax and after we have been given the opportunity to conduct tendering procedures and is of great importance. This is also a big step for companies that cooperate with the public enterprise, and I am glad that today the contract was awarded to the home-based company Euro-Asfalt, which has become a regional company thanks to the construction on the Corridor Vc,” said Terzić.
He added that the anticipated deadline for construction of the said tunnel is 30 months.
Director of Euro-Asfalt Hamed Ramić stressed that the company will start organizing a construction site for the Ivan tunnel, which will be 1761 meters long, early next month.
“This implies the construction of access roads from the side of Bradina and Tarčin, and we will start with the installation of infrastructure, concrete plants and everything else to start the excavation of the Ivan tunnel early next year,” said Ramić.
He noted that Euro-Asfalt has completed all the works on time and some of them even before the deadline and that they have no doubt that the company would comply with this 30-month deadline.
FBiH Minister of Transport and Communication Denis Lasić said that the agreements are being signed more frequently lately, which he said is a great impetus for the Federation of BiH and its economy.
“All local companies are fully engaged in the construction of Corridor Vc. I am convinced that by spring we will have a few more agreements signed, thus approaching the construction of the most complex sections awaiting us on the Corridor Vc, the Prenj Tunnel, or the Mostar North-Mostar South section, for which we are already in talks with the creditors. I am sure that we will soon complete the entire corridor as far as the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is concerned,” Lasić said.
The contract signed today is secured through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of EUR 50 million and European Union grants in the amount of EUR 11.4 million provided under the Connectivity Agenda through the Western Balkans Investment Framework.
By signing this agreement, the FBiH Motorways will have nine active construction sites, that is, 40 kilometers of motorway under construction on the Corridor Vc, and at this moment the FBiH Motorways has secured new investments worth nearly two billion KM for the new 80 kilometers of motorways.
