SARAJEVO, October 25 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) Borjana Krišto and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of BiH BiH Nikola Špirić met today with the President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotko on the sidelines of the European summit of Presidents of Parliament in Strasbourg.
During the meeting, they expressed mutual satisfaction with the friendly relations between the two countries and the excellent cooperation between the parliaments of BiH and Austria. In this regard, they welcomed and supported the participation of the official Austrian National Council and the implementation of the Twinning project "Empowerment and Continuation of the Proposal of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina in European Integration Affairs", which has been implemented since May this year.
President Sobotka stressed that his country will continue to support BiH's European integration, as will all other countries in the region in the pre-accession process, despite the fact that France and some other states were opposed to the EU enlargement process.
Announcing that the Austrian National Council will start organizing a major conference next year on the challenges of EU enlargement, President Sobotka invited PA BiH elected officials to participate in conferences, which were accepted by the deputies of the Speakers of both PA BiH houses.
