Miladin Trifunović, suspected of crimes against humanity, arrested in Sokolac

SARAJEVO, October 23 (FENA) - Police officers of the State Investigation and protection Agency (SIPA) have arrested Miladin Trifunović, born in 1956 in Han Pijesak, acting on the orders of a prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes.

Along with the arrest, on the basis of the request of the prosecution and the order of the Court of BiH, searches were carried out at the facilities used by the suspect.

Miladin Trufunović is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is charged with crimes against humanity committed against Bosniak victims in Vogošća and Ilijaš areas in 1992.

He is suspected of being the commander of the Army of RS Vogošća Brigade, responsible for the killings and murders, as well as the physical and psychological abuse of a number of persons illegally detained at a facility called Planjina kuća in Svrake, who were taken there to serve as human shield, as well as being taken for forced labor carried out on the front lines, in the fire zone, which resulted in the killing of at least 20 people, wounding and grievous bodily harm to at least 20 people, as well as the abuse of dozens of detained persons, stated the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
