TUZLA, October 20 (FENA) - An increasing number of migrants are coming to Tuzla every day. They are mostly taken care of by volunteers, i.e. citizens of Tuzla, with occasional help from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton, Tuzla Healthcare Center, University Clinical Center Tuzla, Merhamet, UNICEF and the Red Cross.

Tuzla Canton Prime Minister Denijal Tulumović told FENA that problem of the migrant crisis should be approached in this way - as a problem and that everyone must work together to solve it.

"We in BiH have very short memory and forget what happened to us. I have made several calls and appeals, but everyone complains that this is within the jurisdiction of the state. However, we are also a state. We have different views and opinions, but what I would like to emphasize is that we have to work together because these people come to our country. Although we are only a transit line, these people deserve our attention, they deserve care," Tulumović said.

He stated that they have not yet had any contact with state authorities in charge of this problem.

"The TC Ministry of Interior is doing a great job, and we have contacts with some European organizations to help these people," Tulumović added.

Speaker of the Assembly of the Tuzla Canton Žarko Vujović said that the problem of the migrant crisis is not only a problem of the Tuzla Canton but of the whole Europe and it is a problem of those who cause insecurity in the world. He recalled that up to four million people are currently waiting in Turkey for passage to Western Europe.

"The only thing we can do is provide them with humanitarian assistance. I do not think that any local community would give permission to make a migrant center in its territory. Migrants do not want to stay here," Vujović stated.

The Speaker of the TC Assembly believes that the migration crisis is caused by world politics.
