BANJA LUKA, October 16 (FENA) - The Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) believe that the BiH Election Law needs to be amended in order for the election processes to be objective and reflect the real will of citizens, and have urged the unblocking of the work of the state parliament, stating that they have a solution, said the leaders of the two parties, Mirko Šarović and Branislav Borenović, after a meeting in Banja Luka.

Šarović said that negotiations on the new BiH Council of Ministers convocation are not the property of the SDA, HDZ and SNSD, and believes that these two parties have the right and can enter the negotiations themselves.

“The Council of Ministers will be formed by those who are able to form a coalition of 22 MPs. We are all legitimate representatives,” he said, stating that the SDS and the PDP are already active in this process.

“The three parties coalition (SDA, HDZ and SNSD) seeks to modify the existing text of the Annual National Program (ANP) in order to reduce it to 25 pages and adapt it to the SNSD requests and in some way mislead the public that this is not the actual ANP,” Šarović said, adding that the document would lead BiH to NATO and believes that this intention to change the ANP will not succeed.

At the same time, he says, the SDS will negotiate with all political parties on the possible formation of the government.

“We have a plan how to unblock the work of the House of Representatives and all options are in play,” Šarović said, adding that the ANP should be put aside until 2022.

He added that both parties have proposals on how the BiH Election Law should be amended to restore citizens' confidence in the electoral process.

"That is crucial for us," Šarović said, announcing that in the coming period positions should be agreed and to get the interest of other parties in order to get the support to amend the Election Law.

The meeting in Banja Luka was also a chance to discuss the work of RTRS, whose work must be independent, which, says Šarović, has not been the case so far and this must change.

When it comes to the special session of the RS National Assembly on the SDA declaration, he stated that everyone, not only one party, should be involved in preparing the materials for that session.

PDP President Branislav Borenović said he expects them to come up with the proposals to amend the BiH Election Law very soon and that it is a legitimate right for them to seek political partners to form the government at the state level, since the SDA, HDZ and SNSD have not made it clear whether their earlier agreement is still in force.
