Novalić and Uebber meet to discuss reforms

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) – FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić received today in an inaugural visit the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH Margret Uebber.

“Germany is a friendly country for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our country is cooperating with the Federal Republic of Germany in every aspect and I expect this will continue in the future,” said Prime Minister Novalić.

Ambassador Uebber expressed her appreciation to the Prime Minister and pointed out that there are very few countries in the European Union and in the world with which Germany has as close ties as it has with Bosnia and Herzegovina. She added that it is important for BiH to move towards the EU.

“You know for sure that you can always have the support of the Federal Republic of Germany, but there are criteria that BiH is obliged to fulfill, and one of them is to give citizens the opportunity to move forward. The first prerequisite for this is government formation at all levels, and the second is implementation of reforms,” said Ambassador Uebber.

Prime Minister Novalić informed the Ambassador on recently adopted socio-economic reforms for the period 2019-2022, emphasizing that the international community gave its consent too.

The PM also briefed the Ambassador on the importance of a set of fiscal laws recently submitted by the FBiH Government to parliamentary procedure.

“We are ready for reforms, and we have shown that during our last term,” said Novalić, PR Office of the FBiH Government announced.
