Bileća residents hold protest gathering due to situation with migrants

FENA Press release

BILEĆA, October 13 (FENA) - Residents of Bileća and surrounding villages gathered today to protest demanding police and government officials to protect them from migrants, who are increasingly passing through the area and endangering their security.

After today's gathering, they demanded for the session of the Bileća Municipal Assembly to be urgently scheduled to discuss the problem of migrants, because, according to the residents, they break into their homes, harassing them and causing fear.

Bileća Mayor Miljan Aleksić also believes that this is a great problem and he will request an extraordinary session of the local parliament tomorrow and urge Republika Srpska Interior Minister Dragan Lukač to ensure police patrols.

"The problem must be solved," said Aleksić.

One of the Bileća residents killed one migrant last week during a confrontation with a group of migrants he found at a neighbor's house.
