Five historical buildings in Sarajevo declared BiH national monuments

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 11 (FENA) - Members of the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments at a session held yesterday in Sarajevo, have decided to designate five new national monuments.

At its 32nd session, Commission Chairman Goran Milojević and members Radoje Vidović and Amir Pašić have decided to designate Morića Han, the Clock Tower, Hajji Mosque (Vekil Harčova Mosque), Čekrekčija Mosque and the White Mosque (Divan katib Hajdar Mosque) in Sarajevo as the BiH national monuments.

The reasons for the adoption of amendments to the original decisions are the defining the protection measures in accordance with the current status determined on the basis of monitoring, the challenges to which the monuments are exposed, the categorization and revaluation, i.e., the harmonization of the protection measures of individual national monuments with the Rulebook on valuation of goods, division by cases of legal protection and the procedure for categorizing national monuments.
