SARAJEVO, October 10 (FENA) - Damir Arnaut, an MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament has asked the relevant services to ensure that journalists accredited to monitor the work of the BiH Parliament, the BiH Council of Ministers, and other bodies have unhindered access to the state parliament building on weekdays.
Arnaut recalls that journalists are allowed access to the building and the press room only during the period at which sessions are held.
This practice leads to situations where journalists wait on the plateau in front of the building and are often asked to leave the building until the end of a session, which was the case during the latest session of the BiH Council of Ministers.
Arnaut briefed the competent services about the practice conducted in this matter in all democratic countries where accredited journalists are not only allowed to stay permanently in the legislative or executive buildings (including at the White House in Washington), but are provided with adequate working conditions (enough room for larger number of journalists, unimpeded internet access, etc.
