BELGRADE, October 9 (FENA) - Current relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are not "antagonistic", but some issues have been open for years, suggesting that "something is not right," BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić said in an interview for Tanjug, adding that Sarajevo is the capital of BiH and that everything will go easier when Serbia recognizes it.
“With due respect and understanding of all the specifics that prevail in this region and in the relations of our two countries, none of us in Sarajevo does not mind people having contacts with any part of the country, but with only one note - Sarajevo is the capital of BiH. When this is recognized everywhere, not only in the relations of our two countries, things will go easier,” said Komšić.
He stressed that he has nothing against the cooperation between Belgrade and Banja Luka, that Milorad Dodik has all the constitutional authority and legitimacy to be an interlocutor to anyone in the world, but that everyone must know how the two countries should communicate.
“I do not mind that Dodik has good relations with any president of Serbia, since for Dodik every president of Serbia is the best. That is his right, but the capital of BiH is Sarajevo,” Komšić points out.
To the statement that since the inauguration of the new BiH Presidency last year, the presidents of Serbia and Croatia have not been in an official visit to Sarajevo, and what he sees as the reason for this or whether he is responsible in any way, Komšić replies: "Let them tell me what to do to change it, unless they expect me to disappear because it won't happen".
