ZENICA, October 9 (FENA) – The last twenty of about 70 miners of the “Stranjani” pit at the Coal Mines Zenica subsidiary, left the pit last night just before 11 pm, Acting Director of Zenica mines Edin Pašić confirmed for FENA.
“The miners left the pit shortly before the arrival of the third shift, after which our internal inspection entered the pit. That's the usual legal procedure,” said Pašić, adding that 30-40 workers were present in the facility's area last night.
He added that, in line with yesterday's decision, which they agreed at a meeting with union representatives, the Management is now implementing the process of permanently suspending production in that pit.
“Miners who are aware of the situation, who are not hostage to that one group of people, are slowly coming and asking to be deployed to the other two facilities, as we have agreed. According to the information I have, the situation is now stable in "Stranjani" pit,” said Pašić.
