SARAJEVO, October 8 (FENA) - BiH Migration Operational Headquarter discussed and adopted a plan of measures and activities for effective management of the migrant crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be frowarded to the BiH Council of Ministers.
The comprehensive plan defines the challenges faced by competent migration institutions and sets the goals for future migration management in BiH.
Strongly stating that BiH does not want to be a “hot spot” for illegal migrants, the first priority is to strengthen the BiH Border Police in order to enhance control at the border and prevent illegal entry into BiH territory.
Fight against migrant smuggling will be intensified as well.
Given that local communities suffer the brunt of the migrant crisis, the plan also envisages support for them to establish temporary reception centers, the BiH Ministry of Security stated.
