SARAJEVO, October 8 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirsad Zaimović received yesterday in an inaugural visit the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Johann Sattler, the Speaker's office stated.
Speaker Zaimović welcomed Ambassador Sattler and wished him a successful mandate in BiH hoping it would be marked by good cooperation and accelerated progress of our country towards EU membership.
The interlocutors exchanged views on current political issues, with particular emphasis on the continuation of socio-economic reforms and the rapid formation of government at both the Federation and state levels.
Speaker Zaimović briefed Ambassador Sattler on the future activities of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, as well as planned sessions, and the completion of leadership at one of the next sessions of the House of Representatives. They also discussed the Twinning projects being implemented in the BiH parliaments and the importance of establishing European Integration Department for both houses of the FBiH Parliament.
During the talks, Zaimović stressed Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective on the EU and NATO, which was also a common position. In addition, they discussed the migrant crisis and how to tackle it, and agreed that it must involve all levels of government.
