Austrian Ambassador visits Gimnazija Obala in Sarajevo

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 7 (FENA) - Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ulrike Hartmann visited grammar school “Gimnazija Obala” in Sarajevo today, where she held a lesson and spoke with students. It was also an opportunity to learn about the work of school and to discuss the education system in Austria and here with school’s administration and teachers.

“Visits like this are very helpful for our students as they have the opportunity to speak with the Ambassador. It certainly enriches the school’s everyday life. I believe that schools must open up more to the community and not only learn from textbooks,” said the school principal Benjamin Hedžić.

The visit of Ambassador Hartmann was also welcomed by the students of the Art Club, who have been working on recycling old school chairs for some time and they presented their work to Ambassador Hartmann. As of today, three recycled chairs will decorate the residence of the Austrian Embassy in Sarajevo, stated “Gimnazija Obala”.
