ZENICA, October 7 (FENA) - Miners at the 'Stranjani' pit at the Coal Mine Zenica have refused to work again, as FENA learned. Acting Director of Zenica Mines, Edin Pašić, points out that he has no official information yet, but that he has also heard that miners refused to work.
“We had a meeting at Stranjani pit, where we presented the Plan of short-term measures for recovery of business and reduction of costs for Coal Mine Zenica. According to that plan, miners from the Stranjani pit would be allocated to the remaining two pits, "Raspotočje" and "Stara jama", with the aim of more efficient work,” said Pašić, who adds that the redeployment of workers does not mean closing the "Stranjani" pit, which is what the miners there are afraid of.
What will be the fate of the Stranjani pit, says Pašić, will be decided only after the final recovery plan for the Zenica mines is finalized, which the new administration is obliged to make within two months.
