DNS halts its participation in the joint coalition with SNSD in Republika Srpska

BANJA LUKA, October 6 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Democratic People's Alliance (DNS), a political party that is part of the ruling coalition with the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats and the Socialist Party in the entity of RS, on October 5 has decided to halt further activities and cooperation under the Agreement on manner and criteria on the joint activities of coalition partners in the 2018-2022 term.

The party stated that they are disappointed with the behavior towards them at the entity and local levels.

"By signing this agreement, we pledged to implement the policies in the interests of the citizens and the entity of Republika Srpska, focusing our efforts on improving the economic and social situation in RS.

We are disappointed with the attitude towards the Democratic People's Alliance, both at the entity and local levels, reflected in constant and frequent dismissals, mistrust, suspicion of DNS personnel, denial of performance and disabling our work in full capacity, we have decided to take this step.

Until further notice, we are no longer bound by political action and the alignment of positions within the Coalition. We will make our own decisions and act politically solely in the interests of the citizens. The president will take over the activities of organizing a meeting with representatives of the SNSD, a leading party of the coalition, to discuss the new situation and the relations, after which the DNS authorities will make a final decision on their political activities," stated the DNS.
