BRČKO, October 4 (FENA) - Brčko District Business Forum, which is being held on the topic "Diaspora for Partnership", began on Friday at the Brčko House of Culture, and will last until Saturday, October 5.
Brčko Mayor Siniša Milić said the Business Forum is important for the District and that it is necessary to create conditions for the return of diaspora to this area and BiH in order to be included in social or economic networks.
Director of the Brčko Business Forum Damir Bulčević emphasized that the Business Forum aims to gather academic and economic community, as well as governing structures and foreign and domestic investors, in one place.
Assistant Minister at the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees Kemo Sarač emphasized that the District is suitable investment area and that cooperation with expatriates can only contribute to better development.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Swiss Ambassador to BiH Andrea Rauber Saxer and UNDP Resident Representative, Mrs. Steliana Nedera, who said that the District has great potential but it is necessary to form better opportunities for those who want to do business in this area from the diaspora.
The Business Forum was organized with the support of the Government of the Brčko District of BiH, in cooperation with the project of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the Government of Switzerland "Diaspora for Development" in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the technical support of the Association of accountants, forensics and auditors of the Brčko District of BiH as well as the support of the Faculty of Economics in Brčko and the University of East Sarajevo, the Office of the Brčko Mayor announced.
