SARAJEVO, September 30 (FENA) - The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, and the Federation of BiH and directors of the FBiH Roads Ljubo Pravdić and the Sarajevo Canton Roads Directorate Selmir Kovač visited the construction site on the subsection “Rondo Bare - Kobilja Glava Tunnel” on the First Sarajevo Transversal.

This sub-section is 1,240 meters long and its construction is funded by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The total funds for the work on the First Transversal amount to 35 million KM and were secured from the accumulated profit of the public enterprises Sarajevo International Airport and BH Telecom.

The cost of the works on the "Rondo Bare- Kobilja Glava Tunnel" amount to 12 million KM, and the rest of the funds the Federation of BiH is willing to invest in the works on the First Transversal as soon as the Sarajevo Canton and the municipalities allow the continuation of construction.

FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić told FENA today that land expropriation operations in this part have been completed, and also four million KM will be provided for the construction from the main railway station to the M-18 road section near Bare.

“This would ensure that traffic from the city of Sarajevo to Vogošća would go without congestions and delays. To complete this, four million are needed for expropriation. We are working hastily on this issue so that by the end of the year or the beginning of the next year we could start the works for which we have secured 19 million KM,” explained Novalić.

“The Government of the Federation of BiH has earmarked the funds and it spends it through the Roads Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton, but we also invite the SC Government to finally join us in this project in order to finish the Sarajevo transversal as soon as possible,” emphasized Novalić, expressing his satisfaction with the dynamic of the works so far.

While visiting the construction sites, the Sarajevo Canton Roads Directorate Director Selmir Kovač, explained in a statement to FENA, that the “Rondo Bare - Kobilja Glava Tunnel” subsection is planned to be completed by March 2020, but that the works might be completed even earlier.
