SARAJEVO, September 29 (FENA) - Persons with initials A.S. (1990) and A. B. (1991), suspected of assaulting journalists and editors of the news portal Radiosrajevo.ba, have been arrested and referred to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton.
The SC Ministry of Interior spokesman Mirza Hadžiabdić stated that the police officers identified, found and arrested in a very efficient manner two persons related to committing the criminal offense of unlawful deprivation of liberty and endangering the safety of other persons under the FBiH Criminal Code.
The Prosecution spokeswoman Azra Bavčić said the two suspects would be detained for 24 hours, after which the acting prosecutor would decide on a possible remand order.
The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and other officials, institutions and media organizations have strongly condemned the attack on this media outlet and urged the relevant authorities to prosecute the attack on the editorial board of one of the most read portals, Radiosarajevo.ba, as soon as possible.
"I hope that by sanctioning the perpetrators, the judicial and prosecutorial authorities will send a clear message that the media and freedom of speech, the basis of a democratic society, must not be threatened and attacked," said Prime Minister Novalić.
