SARAJEVO, September 26 (FENA) – The FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said at a press conference in Sarajevo today that the FBiH Government has adopted the ministry's report on the business operations of the military industry in the Federation of BiH for 2018.

“Total last year's profit of these companies amounted to 285,873,368 KM and increased by 1.3 million KM compared to the previous year,” he said.

He pointed out that the turnover of the companies of the military industries, which are majority-owned by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was 239.44 million KM, and that the revenue generated was four percent higher than in the previous year.

“Companies Igman, Pretis and Unis Ginex are the leaders of this success, because they have a turnover of 208 million KM,” he said.

He stressed that companies registered for arms and ammunition trade employ 3,680 workers.

“Of these, twice as many workers are indirectly linked to the complete supply chain and more,” said the Minister, adding that exports were made to more than 40 countries.

Džindić emphasized that they had exceeded the development strategy by 1,000 times, which outlined the growth and development plan for the military industry.

“We have to have a strategy correction in the near future and align it with what we are doing,” said Dzindic.

One of the innovations, the minister added, is that preparations for 2020 have begun and that all firms in the military industry and all development projects will be controlled through the x-matrix, a new tool for managing the work of boards and supervisory boards.

Referring to the Collective Agreement of the workers in the mining sector, he said that the contract signed on December 11, 2017 expired on June 11, 2019, but that the article defined that it could last for another 90 days.

“We have held a series of meetings with all the unions of the mining sector and have defined that we will prepare information to arrange the signing of an annex. We are very close to reaching an agreement,” he recalled.

Commenting on the findings of the market inspection from the Brown Coal Mine (RMU) Banovići, Džindić said that the existence or partial issuance of fiscal bills for coal sold had been identified, which he called a misdemeanor to be prosecuted and to look for liability.

He pointed out that the veterinary inspector also found food that had expired in 2014.

“The worst information is that in the eight months of 2019, only 49.8 percent of the planned production was realized from the total planned production,” he said.

Džindić expects to officially receive the findings of the inspection, after which he will point out the measures that need to be taken to improve the situation.
