FENA Press release

NEW YORK/SARAJEVO, September 24 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić spoke in New York with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte and Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas about the political and economic situation in BiH, and stressed that at no price he would give up on the NATO path for BiH, because, as he says, it would be playing with the future of the country and its citizens.

Prime Minister Rutte reaffirmed the readiness of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to EU and NATO integration.

The bilateral and friendly cooperation between the two countries was assessed as very good, and it was concluded that there was room for improvement of relations between BiH and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, especially in the field of economy.

Considering that Estonia is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Chairman Komšić offered Prime Minister Ratas to share the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina gained by our country during the process of becoming a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Ratas thanked them for their support and offered Bosnia and Herzegovina the experience and advice they gained in the field of digital technologies.

Estonia, as a member state of the European Union and a country with 1.3 million inhabitants, is a leader in the use of digital technologies. He emphasized that Estonian society is fully digitized, which includes e-government, the electoral process, education and the like. For this reason, he emphasized that cyber security is the most important factor in a digital technology based society.

Ratas also stressed his country's firm support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its path to NATO and the European Union.

In order to strengthen the friendly and economic relations between the two countries, Chairman Komšić invited Prime Minister of Estonia and his associates to pay an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated the office of the BiH Presidency Chairman.
