BIHAĆ, September 23 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) Mustafa Ružnić and Mayor of Novi Grad Miroslav Drljača reiterated their opposition to the construction of a nuclear waste landfill at the location of Trgovska gora at today’s meeting, and called on all residents of the Una River valley to protest again on Friday, September 27 in Novi Grad.
“This is the problem of all of us and I think that Bosnia and Herzegovina should address it seriously, because 300,000 inhabitants in the Una River basin are threatened by an idea of the Republic of Croatia. I would like to thank the USC Prime Minister for organizing the meeting, where we once again confirmed that we will fight together against a nuclear waste landfill in our garden. We think that this should not be a unilateral decision of the Republic of Croatia. We should participate in this decision too. That is why we invite everyone to protests on Friday, where there will be no politics, but only presentation of our interest to decide on our living space together,” said Mayor of Novi Grad Miroslav Drljača.
Local and entity uniqueness was emphasized in the fight against the construction of a nuclear waste landfill in Trgovska gora, and such message will be sent from the protest rally as well.
“We are doing all this for the benefit of our children, because we are afraid that our neighbors will not stop at the nuclear waste landfill, given the lack of electricity in the Republic of Croatia. Regardless of the outcome of the September 30 meeting of representatives of Croatia and Slovenia, we must do everything to protect our vital interests, said USC Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić.
