Osmanović: Dodik is the only threat to RS entity and Dayton PA

SARAJEVO, September 22 (FENA) - The only threat to the Dayton Peace Agreement, and thus to the RS entity, is Milorad Dodik's policy. This was evident yesterday during his visit to Belgrade, where he again threatened with "the activation of the right to self-determination and secession", said BiH Minister of Civil Affairs and SDA Vice-President Adil Osmanović.

He stressed that the Serb people in BiH should not be concerned about the SDA Declaration because it advocates dialogue, consensus and constitutional reforms that require a two-thirds and an entity majority in the BiH Parliament, with the aim of full equality for all peoples and citizens in BiH.

"And nothing is imposed on anyone. However, the Serb people in the RS should certainly be concerned about the restrictive, threatening and adventurous policies imposed on them by Milorad Dodik, whose consequences could be devastating for that entity," Osmanović said.

The Dayton Peace Agreement is very clear, Osmanović pointed out.

"According to him, the entities have no right to self-determination, which Milorad Dodik has been inventing in recent days, and it also represents a dangerous abandonment of the Dayton PA framework as the only guarantor of peace and stability in BiH, but also in the region. Therefore, we consider the pragmatic view of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, that restraint and dialogue are needed, as well as the view that Serbia as a signatory also has a clear obligation to fully respect the Dayton Peace Agreement. On the other hand, there is an inconsistent lack of reaction by the President of Serbia to Dodik's threats of "self-determination and secession", as well as to the SNSD Declaration threatening BiH's territorial integrity. We expect Vučić, who represents the state that is a signatory to the Dayton Peace Agreement, to make himself clear on Dodik's threats to BiH's territorial integrity," Osmanović said.

He stressed that BiH needs strengthening of stability and peace, through compliance with the existing Constitution and laws, implementation of necessary reforms for BiH's progress on the Euro-Atlantic path, as well as economic strengthening and improvement of living standards.
