SARAJEVO, September 18 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić received a letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to BiH, Johanna Stromquist.
Chairman Komšić expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Sweden for the support Sweden provides in the process of bringing BiH closer to Euro-Atlantic integration, with the hope that it will continue to support it in the future. He emphasized that bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Sweden are good and friendly, without open questions. He said that cooperation with the Diaspora and the protection of the interests of BiH citizens, who, on various grounds, reside in Sweden, occupy a special place in fostering and improving BiH's relations with Sweden.
Ambassador Stromquist said that the Kingdom of Sweden was actively supporting reform processes, development and bringing BiH closer to the European Union. As a country from the group of the largest and most significant bilateral donors, Sweden has from the very beginning been involved in the reconstruction process of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to support projects of interest to our country in the coming period.
In the context of talks on BiH's path to the European Union, the interlocutors agreed that the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's application for EU membership of May this year is a roadmap for how BiH can continue to move towards candidate status.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman Komšić expressed his support and wished success in the work of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in carrying out her mission in BiH, the BiH Presidency said.
