BOSANSKA KRUPA, September 17 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić was today honored with the "Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Bosanska Krupa" plaque on the occasion of the Day of the municipality.
He thanked the representatives of the municipality and the citizens for this honor.
“It is my particular pleasure to receive recognition on the day of the liberation of Bosanska Krupa from the aggressor. On this day, members of the Fifth Corps of the Army of BiH, members of the 511th Glorious Brigade, liberated this city through a masterful operation as part of the operation ‘Sana 95’ and forced the enemy into a panic escape.
The enemy left behind a demolished city. However, the citizens who love this town and who love this country have brought it to its feet again. That is why I am glad to see that Bosanska Krupa lives its life and not the one that the aggressor intended for the city,” said Komšić.
“The aggressor’s goal will remain unfathomable permanently, but our goals are still alive; More alive than ever. Just in this city, last year, during the election campaign, I spoke about the goals of us who love and fight for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the time, I said that we must remain true to the idea of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I will repeat the same thing I said then.
The day we stop believing in the idea of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the day we will lose this Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. Do not let them kill that idea of a Republic inside us, an idea of a democracy that we have among ourselves had even when there were no political parties. We politicians must not only 'stand up' but always emphasize the fundamental value of politics and our BiH society.
Let's stop talking just for ourselves and our own ears, let's stop listening only to ourselves and our own. Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a state, as a republic, will again be a society in which we, as once before, are all turned towards each other. I believe in this idea truly and that is why I am in politics,” said the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.
The idea of a republic, said Komšić, is the one in which this country is not anyone's private property or a property of a single political party, but the first and foremost, it is a legacy of the vision of the civic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina does not belong to any nation or religion in particular, but it belongs to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who feel this country to be their own, and it also a country of all those who are no longer with us.
