SARAJEVO, September 13 (FENA) - The BiH Agency for Statistics, in cooperation with the Entity Institutes of Statistics, is launching on September 17 a project to update the statistical Master Framework. For the purpose of this project, in the first quarter, which lasts 22 days, the interviewers will visit about 60,000 households throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to current estimates, interviewers plan to visit 81,468 housing units during the first quarter (in the Federation of BiH 41,425, in the Republika Srpska 30,068 and in the Brčko District of BiH 9,975), or 57,029 households (in the Federation of BiH 28,998, in the Republika Srpska 21,048 and in the Brčko District of BiH 6 983), according to a statement from the BiH Agency for Statistics.
The ultimate goal of updating the sample framework is to increase the volume and quality of statistics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and further align them with EU standards.
The update will be conducted by interviewing households in a selected sample of census circles according to a defined methodology prepared by the three statistical institutions in BiH. The update is done quarterly and will take three years to complete. Statistical institutions spend the first four quarters in cooperation with the agency Prism Research & Consulting in Sarajevo, after which they continue with this very important statistical activity.
Due to the importance of this project, statistical institutions will request the householders for active cooperation in carrying out this important research and guarantee that, in accordance with the laws on statistics and protection of personal data, the answers to the questions will be kept strictly confidential and that the respondents will remain completely anonymous and that the data collected will be used solely for statistical purposes.
