SARAJEVO, September 11 (FENA) - Dragana Mrkonjić in Ljubatovići, near Žepče, will start eco-agro tourism thanks to the USAID's Marginalized Women Support Business Development Fund groups in collaboration with local communities.
Mrkonjić said it is a farm located in a natural environment.
“Visitors, especially the youngest, will be able to see different types of animals, try and buy eco products and spend time outside the city crowd,” Mrkonjić said during the ceremony of signing a grant agreement to support the start-up and development of women's businesses from marginalized groups.
USAID's Program for Supporting Marginalized Groups in collaboration with the Municipality of Žepče allocated 80,000 KM for starting a business.
Žepče Municipality Mayor Mato Zovko said that he considers these women magnificent and very brave.
“I am proud of their courage to enter the world of business and I am sure that they will be motivation for other fellow citizens,” Zovko added.
“Additional value to this model of support is given by the fact that local community is involved in the whole process, not only as financial support but also mentoring. It is important that beneficiaries have whom to turn to and get support during the first year of business,” emphasized the director of USAID's Marginalized Support Program Jasmin Bešić.
Nine businesses in the area of production, tourism, catering, crafts, agriculture and services have been launched in the Municipality of Žepče.
