France ready to invest in BiH and Western Balkans countries

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 11 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vjekoslav Bevanda discussed the possibility of co-operation regarding potential investments today with the Ambassador of the Republic of France to BiH, Guillaume Rousson.

Rousson informed Bevanda that the authorities in France have adopted the strategy for the Western Balkans, where takeover requires cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the electricity business, infrastructure construction, environmental projects and public transport.

The French ambassador handed Bevanda an agreement that should regulate co-operation through the French Development Bank (AFD), which has a 10 billion euro, with regional headquarters in Belgrade, covering all Western Balkan countries.

According to Rousson, a similar agreement has already been signed with the Government of Serbia, while other countries in the region are in the process of signing, and a few months ago that draft agreement was submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and subsequently to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.

The collocutors used today's meeting to exchange views on the current political situation in BiH, and it was assessed that the government formation is necessary because it has created a way to accelerate reforms and move forward in the process of European integration.
