Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival presents its program

SARAJEVO, September 4 (FENA) – The rich program of the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival AJB DOC, an international documentary film festival organized by Al Jazeera Balkans Television from September 20 to 24, in collaboration with the Al Jazeera Media Network and the Al Jazeera Media Institute in Doha, is presented today in Sarajevo.

The film “For Sama” by Waad Al-Kateab and Edward Watts will open the festival competition program, and audience will have opportunity to watch 12 competitive, five feature films for the non-competitive selection of Last Minute Cinema and six films for the program AJB Shows.  

Director of Al Jazeera Balkans Tarik Djodjić said that Sarajevo is already becoming recognizable by festivals and that Al Jazeera Balkans is also contributing to small, self-contained documentary film festivals.

Director of AJB DOC Film Festival Edhem Fočo praised the excellent selection of films, saying that shortly after the invitation to participate in the Second AJB DOC Film Festival, authors from around the world responded and that more than 400 films from 21 countries were reported on the festival base.

He stressed that the theme of this year's festival is 'Change' and all films are about that.

Fočo explained that the specifics of the AJB DOC Film Festival are reflected in the fact that the documentaries are prepared according to the world standard for television broadcasting, that is, they are of limited duration according to the television form.
