SARAJEVO, August 25 (FENA) – Elektroprivreda BiH expects a signed letter of support from the BiH Council of Ministers so they can proceed with further preparations and building of Block 7 at the Thermal Power Plant Tuzla.

“It only remains for the BiH Council of Ministers to agree and sign a letter of support for the project. When Export–Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) receives certified copies of the letter of support of the Council of Ministers of BiH for the project, conditions for granting a credit line from the State Council of the People's Republic of China will be met,” told FENA from Elektroprivreda BiH.

They reminded that two agreements, Loan Agreement (Cexim and Elektroprivreda BiH) and FBiH Guarantee Agreement (Cexim and FBiH), needed for the construction of Block 7 came into force on April 11, 2019.

Construction of Block 7 as a replacement thermal power unit in Tuzla, which, when built, will replace blocks 3,4 and 5 and is certainly the largest project in BiH's power engineering at the moment, with its value estimated at more than KM 1.5 billion.

“The construction of Unit 7 will start when the above conditions are fulfilled and the Loan Agreement and EPC Contract become effective. The deadline for construction and start of the new unit in the energy system is 56 months,” stated EPBiH.
