BANJA LUKA, August 23 (FENA) -The RS police arrested two men from Kozarska Dubica on suspicion of trafficking in cultural and historical property online.
The searches were conducted at several locations in the Kozarska Dubica area.
The arrested persons are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of trafficking, appropriation, destruction or damage to cultural monuments, protected objects or other objects of particular cultural or historical importance, as well as for taking abroad objects of special cultural or historical importance or natural rarities.
“During the search, objects related to the commission of criminal offenses were found, such as number of metal objects that are associated with items of archaeological, cultural or historical value (various arrows, spearheads, axes, small statues and various figures, ancient coins, etc.), metal detector, and documentation related to the sale and delivery of these items abroad,” it is said in a statement from the RS MoI.
This operation codenamed "Pandora IV" was implemented in the framework of an international criminal investigation and in cooperation with Interpol.
Operations will be continued on the aforementioned case through the exchange of information with Interpol, in order to identify injured parties and perpetrators, in cooperation with the RS Museum.
