Landline calls and SMS are less and less popular

SARAJEVO, August 23 (FENA) - Total number of active landlines of dominant operators in BiH amounted to 600.535 in the first quarter of last year, which is 3.1 percent less compared to the first quarter of last year.

Agency for Statistics of BiH counted 412.618.178 call minutes in the fixed network, which is 10.8 percent less than in the first quarter of last year.

When it comes to the number of mobile network users in the first quarter, it amounted to 3,319,416 and recorded a slight increase of 0.5 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

Total number of outgoing calls in the first quarter amounted to 542.033.666 minutes, which is 3.3 percent more from the first quarter last year.

The number of messages via SMS decreased by 16.5 percent in the first quarter, while the number of sent MMS messages increased by 10.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Total number of fixed-line Internet connections in the first quarter was 697,642, which is 1.7 percent more compared to the first quarter of last year.
